High Hematocrit On Cycle – Should You Panic?

In enhanced athletes, elevated hematocrit is common due to androgen-induced erythropoiesis.

Testosterone and certain anabolic agents increase red blood cell production through:
• Direct marrow stimulation
• Increased erythropoietin signaling
• Improved iron utilization

A mild to moderate rise is expected.

However, risk increases when:
• Hematocrit exceeds 52–54%
• Blood pressure remains elevated
• Lipids deteriorate
• Resting heart rate increases
• Symptoms like headache or flushing occur

Before recommending blood donation, evaluate:
1. Hydration status
2. Sodium/potassium intake
3. Cardio frequency
4. Injection frequency
5. Estrogen control
6. Sleep and stimulant usage

Phlebotomy is a tool — not a reflex reaction.

The goal is viscosity control without compromising performance or recovery.

Under Team Muscle Factory protocols, we never treat numbers emotionally.
We treat trends logically.
